The Rhythm Wall

The Rhythm Wall

Use the cards below to create small posters for the game.
Use the more difficult rhythms once the children have an understanding of the easier rhythms.
Play one of the cards for the children.
Have them come up to the wall and point to the card they heard.
If they play it correctly allow them to pick an instrument in the room to play the next rhythm of their choice.
Make sure you review iconic notation prior to playing the game.
My students learn quarter notes as the word "pie", eighth notes are "apple" or "pumpkin", sixteenth notes are "boysenberry".
